This book was an easy read and for the most part insightful. It covers many of the basics of fastpitch pitching mechanics, alignment, grip, stride, arm circle, etc. It also goes into different movement pitches. What I liked most about it was some of the mental side of pitching and how to make adjustments during a game. There are also some great quotes and stories from the authors coaching experiences. I would recommend this book to a parent or coach of an already established or intermediate pitcher. I don't know if it will be very helpful to the beginning player or parent. I think much of the terminology and instruction is geared towards a player with some basic knowledge of pitching. This book will help many of those players take their game to the next level.As a coach of a 14U club team and knowing a little (not a lot) about pitching, it has given me a much better perspective on things to help my pitchers with. I wouldn't say I'm ready to start giving pitching lessons just yet but I understand more and there were other coaching insights in the book that I can use with all of my players, not just pitchers. I recommend this book to other coaches for that reason.

I learned a lot of great things about not only pitching but a lot about general coaching points. I highly recommend this book to coaches, pirates, and fathers.
